What Matters to a Woman

Another subtle submission from Jim Maccaulay. Thanks.

While having a drink in his favorite tavern, John noticed a lovely blond woman seated several tables away. Smitten, John went over and introduced himself. “Hello there. My name is John. Can I buy you a drink?”

The blonde replied, “My name is Sally, and I would love to have a drink with you. Please pull up a chair and sit with me.”

As the evening progressed, they consumed several drinks. When the tavern issued its last call, John asked Sally if she would like to see his apartment, and she readily accepted.

Once they arrived at John’s apartment, all talk ceased, as the kissing began. As their passion began to build and their clothes came off, Sally could hear John repeatedly exhaling audibly. In fact, Sally found John’s continual sighing so distracting that she finally got up off the couch, put her clothes back on and headed for the door.

“Why are you leaving,” John asked. “I thought you wanted to make love with me.”

“I did at first, John,” replied Sally. “But you just have to realize that, to a woman, sighs matter.”
