Another that’s certainly been done, and might have variants already in Tarzan’s Tripes, but this one drug me out of bed until I got it written down…

In addition to being an actor and comedian, Dom DeLuise was an accomplished chef. He wrote several books on cooking and often performed cooking segments when on talk shows.

He was also good friends with well-known Cajun chef Paul Prudhomme. In fact, Prudhomme even shared his top secret cream of shellfish soup recipe with DeLuise, but was somewhat resentful because DeLuise never told anyone whose recipe it was originally.

One time, he appeared on The Rosie O’Donnell Show. As was often the case, there was a cooking segment, so he decided to make Prudhomme’s wonderful soup. Unfortunately, he was bantering with Rosie so much that he didn’t stir the soup sufficiently, and the cream congealed. It was a complete disaster.

Later that day, DeLuise called Prudhomme, who had already seen the segment, and asked what he could have done better. Prudhomme had two pieces of advice:

Whisk her curds of bisque, Dom. Credit me!
