A Brit named Peyton, who had a bit of a reputation as a loony, left his homeland for the Yukon, where he somehow managed to join the RCMP. He was a reckless horseman, however, and met an untimely end when he was thrown from his saddle on a pitted path. He was ever more known as Mountie Peyton on the Holey Trail.
