The Skunk Family

This was sent to the Gaggles of Groaners listserv by Bill Purcell. We both remember it from at least back to the 60s. “Himie Koshevoy’s Treasure Jest of Best Puns”, 1969, has a version of this story.

Once upon a time a young peasant boy was walking in the woods when he came upon a dead dragon. The young fellow knew the worth of this rare find, and saw it as his duty to report it to the King.
